Fortunately, with the lithium-ion batteries, this mission is not insurmountable provided you follow a few simple rules.

First, an obvious rule that must be followed is that you do not use all the autonomy of your smartphone by playing Candy Crush or leaving your WiFi or GPS activated when you do not use them. But there is still one but! Keeping a laptop in charge very often also makes the battery heater. The latest wireless charging systems are a very convenient way to use compatible phones, but this can be a disadvantage. The current wireless chargers have this bad habit of generating a little too much residual heat, capable of damaging your battery. So even if this is a little less practical, be aware that the good old wired recharging technique helps keep your battery in the best possible health at the moment, especially if you live in a warm place.

Never lower to zero level (for appliances left unattended)

The sad reality is that using your battery will degrade it. It will go out slowly, including if you leave a device in a closet without using it. A tip exists however to minimize this inexorable effect of aging concerning the devices little used: always leave a little energy.
